6206499631785950753Supratman Andi Agtas serves as Minister of Law of the Republic of Indonesia since October 2024.

Before his inauguration, he was a prominent leader in Indonesia’s legislative and legal sectors. Since his election as a Member of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) in 2014, Supratman has played a critical role in legislative leadership. His expertise earned him the esteemed position of Chair of the Legislative Body (Baleg). Additionally, he has also served as a member of various special committees (Pansus).

Supratman has a strong legal background, starting as an advocate in Central Sulawesi from 1996 to 1998, a lecturer at Universitas Tadulako from 1998 to 2012, along with serving as Commissioner of PT. Citra Nuansa Elok and Director of Perusahaan Daerah Kota Palu from 2004 to 2012, where he led initiatives bridging the public and private sectors.

Supratman has been instrumental in steering significant legislative projects, such as leading the revision of the MD3 Law and contributing actively to bills on Oil and Gas (RUU Migas), Cybersecurity, and the relocation of Indonesia’s capital city. Additionally, Supratman also played a role in the creation of various regulations focusing on governance, public welfare, and anti-corruption. He contributed to electoral reforms through the Pansus for the Election Law (RUU Pemilu) and strengthened public institution accountability as part of the inquiry committee on the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

Supratman has also represented Indonesia on the international stage, participating in various legislative and diplomatic engagements that have enhanced the country's global presence. He took part in discussions in the United Kingdom, exchanging knowledge on legislative processes. His mission to the United States involved consultations on the State Civil Apparatus Bill (RUU ASN), aligning Indonesia’s legislative efforts with global standards. Additionally, his visits to Chile and Ecuador focused on reviewing draft laws concerning indigenous communities. These experiences have broadened his legislative expertise, allowing him to integrate international perspectives into Indonesia's legal advancements.
